Quilt Show 2009 - Welcome

Dear Quilters,

TIES THAT BIND QUILT GUILD is eagerly planning for the 18th annual Country Quilt Show to be held November 7th, 2009 at the Slinger Middle School. This is our fourth year sponsoring this wonderful Quilt Show. We have some great ideas in store for this year and are looking forward to a great day. We will include a vendor marketplace, a fabulous luncheon, antique quilt bed peel, as well as the great quilts on display. This year, the bed peel will be narrated by our member Sylvia Adair of the WI Museum of Quilt and Fiber Arts. She will feature “Applique Quilts” The theme of the show this year is Scrap quilts and our Feature Quilters are Jan Krueger & Linda Marcou exhibiting their “Scrap Busters” Trunk Show.

Enclosed with this letter are an exhibitor entry form and a flyer about the quilt show. As in the past, you may fill out your entry form on line, and the address is http://www.slingerquiltshow.org/. You may also mail your form. Please note our entry deadline of Oct. 19th, 2009. To help with the show this year, Royce Quilting in West Bend and The Quilted Basket in Menomonee Falls have agreed to be drop off and pick up locations. The details are outlined in the exhibitor forms.



We will be charging a $4.00 fee to exhibit up to four items. The money we collect in Exhibitor fees will be returned in the form of Prize Money. The Best of Show will be awarded $50.00. On line entries will be charged a 50 cent fee for the Pay Pal transaction. The categories remain the same as last year, including “display only” for antique quilts. Please be sure to enter the category for the predominant technique used in the quilt. Your quilt does not need to be scrappy to enter the show. Don’t forget to add your wonderful stories behind the making of the quilt to the form.

You will receive a free admission ticket upon entering a quilt for display. Sleeves are not needed on quilts. If you have a friend who is also interested in entering a quilt, exhibitor forms can be copied, or by contacting any of the names and numbers listed on the exhibitor form.
